Haniyfa Muhammad Branka

Haniyfa Muhammad Branka is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice combines ceramics, fiber, and mixed-media assemblage to explore memory, lineage, and cultural preservation. Using clay, textiles, and sustainable materials, she creates layered works that

examine how histories are carried across generations and transformed over time.

Research is central to her practice. Drawing from family histories, everyday rituals, material culture, and overlooked narratives, she investigates how objects function as vessels for memory and how they hold personal and collective experience. Her layered compositions consider what is remembered and what is lost across time.

Guided by a lifelong commitment to advocacy and empowerment, her work is informed by a prevention-focused public health framework centered on harm reduction.
